SDET - Software Design Engineer in Test - Contract - Dublin 18
Our Client - Global Software Development Company, is currently looking for a Software Design Engineer in Test (SDET), who will be responsible for writing and executing test plans and cases, and designing and developing test tools and test automation.​ This is not about regression or manual testing, it's about development in test!
Responsibilities for the candidate will include participating in product architecture and design decisions, and working closely with the Development and Program Management teams to ensure the feature/​product is compliant to design specifications.​
Summary of Project/​Product/​Division:
Our Client is currently working on a powerful next-generation functionality for their Content Delivery Network (CDN) system.​ They us .​NET: C+​+​, C# and Silverlight as their development technologies.​ Our Client follows agile methodologies and stay abreast of all technology trends.​
Primary responsibilities include working with the infrastructure team on an initiative to automate testing of key features to be integrated into the CDN suite of tools and systems.​ We're looking for a Software Engineer to help design and build test frameworks and implement test cases.​ You will (1) contribute to building the test automation (including implementing parts of the functional, stress, UI, and performance testing infrastructure); (2) maintain a lab test bench used to run automated test passes, code analysis, and internal deployments; (3) contribute to the CDN release efforts to ensure that issues are investigated, fixed and don't regress.​
A successful candidate will be working directly with the team in Dublin to design and develop a nearly complete automated test solution.​ Strong coding skills will be required to tackle the test challenges of these new features.​
Responsibilities:
-Design and develop one or more test frameworks to validate the functionality of the innovative features to be integrated into CDN
-Discover, report, validate fixes, and ensure proper test coverage for component issues.​
-Improve the efficiency of the team through automation improvements
-Build strong working relationships with Development /​ Project Management counterparts;
Minimum Requirements:
-Proven track record in software development.​
-Solid programming skills in C+​+​ and C#
-Strong technical background
-Excellent problem-solving skills
-Excellent coordination, cooperation, organizational and interpersonal skills.​ Strong at cross team collaboration
-Good communication skills and fluent in both writing and speaking English;
Additional Requirements:
-Must be capable of working independently and cooperatively, and innovating in a highly dynamic environment
-Proven track record working on and be comfortable with debugging software in a multi-threaded environment
-Degree calibre, preferably in Computer Science or related technical equivalent is required
Desirable Skills
-Previously developed and tested distributed systems
-Working knowledge of C, Perl or PHP desirable
