Product Designer - New York

Description

World's leading home furnishings company looking for a product designer with a 3-5 years experience, preferably working with branded companies. They will design a variety of decorative home products, tabletop products and bath accessories. Knowledge of towel and shower curtain design and construction is a plus, but not a must.

They should be well experienced in working with a variety of materials, including ceramics, metals, glass, resin and plastics. They will need to create technical drawings, as well as concept illustrations. A knowledge of Graphite, Solid Works, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator is a must.

This full time position reports to Design Director and is located in New York, NY

Specific Skills

• BFA or equivalent degree in Industrial Design required

• 3-5 years of experience working for a branded company

• Candidate should have strong ideation and conceptual skills.

• Ability to lead the design process from early phase through development

• Good manual sketching skills to quickly communicate ideas

• Computer Skills needed: Graphite, Solidworks, Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Office

• Should be able to work with different materials and understand their capabilities as well as their limitations.

• Candidate expresses excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Candidate thrives in a group environment and treats others with respect.
